Kuwait Club’s first basketball team seized control of the 2024–2025 league final by defeating Kazma 80–61 in Game 1 of the best-of-five series at the Basketball Association Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. With three wins needed to secure the championship, the “Whites” now hold a crucial 1–0 advantage.
After a tightly contested first half, Kuwait Club pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Kazma by double digits to claim a comfortable victory. The next showdown is set for Sunday; a second win would leave Kuwait Club one victory shy of the title, while a Kazma triumph would send the series into a high-stakes Game 3.
Meanwhile, the bronze-medal series tips off today at 5:00 pm in Al-Ittihad Hall, pitting Al-Qurain against Al-Qadsiya. This best-of-three playoff gives the winner of the first match a 2-0 edge in the race for third place; Al-Qadsiya claimed that opening game last Tuesday with a 90–76 victory over Al-Qurain.
With the final and third-place series underway, Kuwaiti basketball fans are in for a thrilling conclusion to the season. The “Whites” look to build on their decisive opening win, while Kazma fights to keep its title hopes alive, and Al-Qurain aims to avenge its early setback against the “Yellows.”
