Meanwhile, in Kuwait’s win over Saudi, the bronze-medallists got off to a rousing start and took a 9-0 lead in the opening two minutes. They held on to the advantage throughout the entire contest and warded off the Saudis late in the final canto. A Hamad Hasan (191-PG-1997) three-pointer off the glass gave Kuwait a 67-54 advantage with two-and-a-half-minutes to go in the third, but Saudi cut the gap to 61-67 heading into the fourth quarter. There, Saudi battled to within three points twice in the period, including at the very end when a Mohammed Alsuwailem basket pegged the final score. Hussain Alkhabbaz led all scorers with 20 points while Ahmed Albaloushi added 16 for the Kuwaitis. Mohammed AlMarwani (206-C-1989) was the top man for the Saudis with 15 points, while Ayman Almuwallad chipped in with 14.
