Augustine Rubit (ex Rostock) signs at Kuwait

Augustine Rubit

Defending champion Al Kuwait SC (D1) landed experienced 35-year old American 203cm power forward Augustine Rubit (college: USA) for the upcoming season. He played most recently at Rostock Seawolves in the German BBL league. In two games, he averaged 8.5ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.5apg, and 1.5spg last season. For the two previous seasons (2021-23), he played at another German team Bayern Muenchen (also in BBL). The team played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. He also played 16 games in BBL where he recorded 11.9ppg, 5.0rpg, and 1.7apg in the 2022-23 year. Rubit helped them to win the cup and make it to the league semifinals. It was a very successful season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-German Bundesliga Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week. He also played 20 games in Euroleague where he got 10.9ppg, 4.0rpg, and 1
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014.
Rubit has played professionally in Germany, Greece, and Lithuania. He has played for ratiopharm Ulm, Bamberg, and Tigers in Germany, Olympiacos in Greece, and Zalgiris in Lithuania.
He won the Lithuanian League championship title in 2021. He was voted to the Eurobasket.com German Bundesliga All-Imports Team in 2022.
Rubit graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2014 and it'll be his 11th season in pro basketball.
