Al Qurain (D1) added to their roster experienced 35-year old American power forward DeVaughn Washington (203cm-102kg-1989, college: Ohio) for the new 2024-25 season. He was the top rebounder at Tachikawa Dice in the Japanese B3 League last season where in 10 games he recorded 9.0ppg, 9.9rpg, and 3.7apg. He also played for another Japanese team, Nagasaki Velca (B1 League) in Japan. The other team he played briefly for was Niigata Albirex (B2 League) in Japan, as well as 89ers (B1 League) in Japan.
Washington is a highly experienced player. He has played professionally in nine different countries across four continents. He has played in Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Turkey, Uruguay, and North Macedonia. Washington has gained valuable experience during his career as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America.
He won the Bulgarian League championship title in 2022. He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Bulgarian League Defensive Player of the Year in 2018.
Washington graduated from Ohio University in 2011 and it'll be his 14th season as a pro player.
