Sagesse - Al Hekmeh Beirut (LBL) signed experienced 35-year-old American 208cm power forward Clinton Chapman (college: Texas, agency: Diamond Sports) for the new season. He last played at Kazma in the Kuwaiti D1 league. In 14 West Asia Super League games, he averaged an impressive 25.6ppg, 12.4rpg, 1.4apg, 1.1spg, and 1.8bpg last season, helping them reach the group semifinals. It was a very successful season for him, earning him Asiabasket.com All-West Asia Super League Final 8 Player of the Year, Forward of the Year, and League Player of the Week awards. The previous (2023) summer, he played at Austin's Own in the U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament.
Chapman has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013.
He is a very experienced player. Chapman has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Germany (ALBA Berlin, EnBW Ludwigsburg, Science City Jena and Rasta Vechta), Italy (Pesaro), Japan (Niigata Albirex, Jets, Grouses and Dragonflies), Qatar (Al Sadd), Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal), Switzerland (Fribourg and Massagno) and Turkey (Vestel).
His team won the Qatari Emir Cup in 2023.
Chapman graduated from the University of Texas in 2012 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball.
