Defending champion Shabab Al Ahli Dubai (ULB) strengthened their roster with the addition of 30-year-old American forward Marcus Georges-Hunt for the 2024-25 season. Georges-Hunt, who also holds a USA-U.S. Virgin Islands passport, played college basketball at Georgia Tech. He is the second foreign player on the team, joining fellow American Marcus Hunter. Georges-Hunt spent the last two years playing in the Kuwaiti D1 league, where he averaged 14.4ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.0apg, and 1.4spg in 15 West Asia Super League games last season, helping his team win the group title.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Georges-Hunt was a member of the USA Under 19 National Team in 2013.
Thanks to Georges-Hunt's pro career, he has played on three different continents (Asia, Latin America, and North America) in six different countries. Georges-Hunt has played professionally in China (Jiangsu Dragons, Blue Whales, and Loong Lions), Puerto Rico (Mets), NBA (Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and Minnesota Timberwolves), NBA G League (Iowa Wolves, College Park SkyHawks, and Maine Celtics), and NBA Summer League (Atlanta Hawks). He is a very experienced player.
He was voted to the D-League All-Star Game in 2017.
He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2016, and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
