Libya made it into the semifinal stage of the Arab Basketball Championship. They outscored Kuwait in Cairo in the quarterfinal clash tonight. Naseem Badroosh (190-G-1998) tossed in 26 points for the winners.
Libya and Kuwait went neck and neck throughout the first half. The scoreboard read 39-39 after twenty minutes. Libya poured in 27 points in the third term to open a 6-point advantage. They held Kuwait to only 16 points in the fourth stanza and raced to the win. Omar Fowaz finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds for Libya. Alexander Alghais (188-G-1993, college: Rollins) answered with 22 points for Kuwait.
