Al Jahraa (D1) agreed terms with 26-year old Lebanese international guard Wael Arakji (194cm-85kg, agency: 24 Sec Basketball) for new 2021-22 season. Arakji is the second import player in the roster as USA Brandon Garrett signed here earlier.
He was about to sign at Al Shamal in Qatari D1 league. The last season he played at US Monastir in Tunisian league where in 6 Basketball Africa League games he had 14.7ppg, 2.3rpg, 3.2apg and 1.2spg.
He has been also a member of Lebanese international program for some years. He has regularly played for Lebanese senior team since 2015 and previously for U18 National Team between 2011 and 2012.
Arakji represented Lebanon at the FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon four years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 5 games: 16.4ppg, 4.4rpg, 3.8apg, 2.0spg, FGP: 62.8%, 3PT: 42.9%, FT: 55.6%.
He has played also professionally in China (Royal Fighters), Lebanon (Al Riyadi) and NBA Summer League (Dallas Mavericks). Arakji won Tunisian League championship title in 2021 and the cup in 2021. He was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 1st Team in 2021.
