Aleksandar Marelja

Kazma (D1) inked 28-year old Serbian 207cm power forward Aleksandar Marelja, agency: BeoBasket for upcoming season. Marelja played most recently at SYNTAINICS MBC Weissenfels in German BBL league. In 18 games he averaged 11.7ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.1apg last season.
The previous (19-20) season he played at Braunschweig (also in BBL) where in 18 games he had 4.6ppg and 2.2rpg.
He represented Serbia at the World University Games in Gwangju (South Korea) six years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 12.0ppg, 6.5rpg, FGP: 61.3%, FT: 71.4%.
He is a very experienced player. Marelja has played also professionally in Belgium (Antwerp Giants and Oostende), Poland (AZS Koszalin), Spain (UCAM Murcia and Real Betis), Serbia (Borac, Sloga, Vrsac and KG 06 Radnicki) and North Macedonia (Strumica).
Among many awards his team made it to the Radivoj Korac (Serbian Cup) Semifinals in 2017. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Polish League Honorable Mention back in 2018.
