Kuwait inks A.J. Slaughter for GCC!!

A.J. Slaughter

Defending champion Al Kuwait SC (D1) agreed terms with 33-year old American (has also Polish passport) shooting guard A.J. Slaughter (191cm-80kg-87, college: WKU, agency: BeoBasket) for the Arab Gulf Club Championship (GCC). He is the second import player in the roster as Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Kikanovic signed here earlier.
Slaughter moved there from Gran Canaria in Spanish Liga Endesa where he played this season. In 24 games he had 13.7ppg, 2.3rpg, 3.6apg and 1.1spg. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week. Slaughter also played 12 games in Eurocup where he recorded very impressive stats: 15.8ppg, 2.1rpg and 3.9apg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. The last summer Slaughter played at Team Hines in U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013.
Slaughter also represented Poland at the European Championships four years ago. His stats at that event were 3 games: 14.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 4.0apg, FGP: 64.7%, 3PT: 28.6%, FT: 66.7%.
Slaughter is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Belgium (Belfius Mons Hainaut), France (Cholet Basket, ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne Basket, SIG Strasbourg and Chalon/Saor), Greece (Panathinaikos), Italy (Biella), Turkey (Bandirma), Spain (Real Betis) and The Basketball Tournament (Team Rondo and Team KBC).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Slaughter won French ProA championship title in 2019. He was also selected Eurobasket.com All-French ProA Import Player of the Year back in 2014.
Slaughter attended Western Kentucky University until 2010 and it is his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
