Kuwait lose two in a row at GCC Championship

Kuwait started their GCC Championship campaign with two losses. Kuwait took on Bahrain in the opener. Bahrain gave little chance for their opponents in this one. They led from start to finish to post a comfortable 52:33 win at the end. Bahrain stormed into the game building a 20:5 lead after ten minutes. Bahrain stayed in charge throughout the reminder of contest and eased to the win at the end. Mariam Hedar delivered 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Fatima Adel had 16 points for Bahrain. Esha Adnan answered with 11 points and 20 rebounds for Kuwait. Mounera Walid netted 5 points in the loss.
Kuwait faced hosting Qatar in their second game in Doha. Qatar proved the strength registering a 52:29 win. The hosts led by just a single point after a low-scoring first half 15:14. But Qatar shifted the gear in the second half and fired 37 points to run away for the victory. Warda Mourgam tallied 24 points, 13 boards and 7 assists for Qatar. Amal Aurad provided 11 points and 15 rebounds in the win. Esha Adnan and Atlaf Mousaed had 6 points each in the losing effort.
Kuwait will face UAE on Tuesday.
