Kuwaits Women's Team Focus on Improvement- January 28, 2009
Coach Khaled Qallaf and Kuwait Women's National Team was not so lucky this time around when they faced Camp Arifjan Women's Team. On their last visit to Camp Arifjan they left victorious, but this time Arifjan Women proved to be more than the KWNT could handle in the blow-out last Saturday, 25 January. But don't get me wrong, this was no easy feat. Afijan's guards found themselves sometimes out hustled by the likes of Kuwait's guards Muneera Al Shatti (#6), and Eins Al Ali (9) to name a few. Muneera Al Shattis, quick hands, speed and heart-of-a-lion hustle proved to Arifjan's Women and to the packed crowd that there was and still is a lot of fight in this team. After the game I got a chance to catch up with Coach Khaled, Sarah Al Sultan (#17 center) and the aforementioned, they all echoed the same 3 things: working harder, getting stronger, and staying focused. They all felt that: This time they were out muscled by Arifjan's Ladies, and they did not play their best. Kuwait has nothing to be ashamed of, they played with honor and integrity; the way the game is suppose to be played. Their heart and desire to win makes it hard not to stand by these ladies. Stay tuned. Source:Kendra Washington |
