Kazakhstan Higher League round 3 best performance: Sergei Bormatenkov (by Hoops Agents)

Forward Sergei Bormatenkov (191-F-1991) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Turan, receiving a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 33-year old player was the main contributor (27 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Tigers-KazATU (#7, 0-4) with 37-point margin 90-53. Turan maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Turan already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Bormatenkov had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Turan's top player in his first season with the team. Sergei Bormatenkov has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 15.5ppg) and averages impressive 74.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Alexey Vlasov (190-G-2007) of Karaganda. Vlasov had a very good evening with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Karaganda lost that game 71-81 to ChelSU (3-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Vlasov is well-known at Karaganda and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Askar Akhmetzhan (198-F-1998) of Astana Tigers-KazATU (#7). Akhmetzhan scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Akhmetzhan's great performance the Tigers-KazATU lost 53-90 to Turan (#2, 4-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Tigers-KazATU can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 4 games. Too bad for Akhmetzhan he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Akhmetzhan has individually a great season in Kazakhstan. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.0rpg (#1 in league).
