Papshiv's double-double lands him Higher League Player of the Week award

Alexander Papshiv

33-year old guard Alexander Papshiv (191-G-1991) had a great game in the last round for ChelSU Kostanay and receives a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 4.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Champ1on (#5, 1-4) 78-64. ChelSU maintains the 3rd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. ChelSU will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Papshiv had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be ChelSU's top player in his first season with the team. Papshiv has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 18.8ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.8rpg) and averages solid 4.0spg and 57.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Bektimir Tau (200-PF-2007) of Champ1on. He is a forward in his first season at Champ1on. In the last game Tau recorded an impressive double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Champ1on lost that game 64-78 to slightly higher-ranked ChelSU (#3, 3-1). Champ1on is still second from the bottom in the standings. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Champ1on managed to get this year. Tau is a newcomer at Champ1on and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Alymzhan Maksutov (180-G-1994) of league's second-best Turan. Maksutov got into 30-points club by scoring 36 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . He was a key player of Turan, leading his team to a 82-63 easy win against #4 ranked Shymkent in a game of the week. Turan started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Maksutov turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Maksutov has a great season in Kazakhstan. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.5ppg (2nd best) and assists with 4.3apg (4th best).
