The Regular Season in Higher League is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 4 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game of round 21 in the Higher League took place in Petropavlovsk. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-best Aktobe (13-7) to third ranked Bars (12-8) 78-76 on Saturday evening. Bars have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-8 record having five points less than leader Kazygurt. Aktobe at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. Bars are looking forward to face Irtysh (#4) in Pavlodar in the next round. Aktobe will play on the road against SDYUSH in Alma-Ata and is hoping to win this game.
Leader Kazygurt delivered the sixteenth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked SDYUSH (6-14) 103-54 in Shymkent. Kazygurt (16-5) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place. SDYUSH lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost. Kazygurt will play against bottom-ranked Tigers Ast. (#6) in Astana in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. SDYUSH will play at home against the league's second-placed Aktobe and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Astana supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Irtysh (11-9) played at the court of 6th ranked Tigers Ast. (3-17). Irtysh smashed Tigers Ast. 99-50 on Saturday. Irtysh maintains fourth place with 11-9 record. Tigers Ast. lost their tenth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Irtysh will meet at home higher ranked Bars (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tigers Ast. will play against the league's leader Kazygurt in Shymkent and hope to secure a win.



Kazygurt - SDYUSH 103-54

Leader Kazygurt delivered the sixteenth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked SDYUSH (6-14) 103-54 in Shymkent. Kazygurt (16-5) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place. SDYUSH lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost. Kazygurt will play against bottom-ranked Tigers Ast. Tigers Ast. - Irtysh 50-99

Defending champion BK Astana (National League) re-signed 22-year old international forward Askar Maidekin (203-97). He played there last season. But in two VTB United League games he averaged just 1.0ppg and 1.0apg. Maidekin's team won Kazakhstan Cup. The previous (17-18) season Maidekin played at Barsy Atyrau where in 31 National League games he had 5.1ppg and 2.7rpg (leader !!!). He played most recently at BK Astana in Kazakhstan National League. In 21 VTB United League games he averaged 11.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.2apg and 1.2spg last season.
