Irtysh stole a 75:74 victory in the decisive fifth game tonight. Anna Vinokurova (191-C-92) nailed 20 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the winners. Irtysh got to a strong start. They piled up a 23:18 lead after ten minutes. But the Tigers took over in the second frame. They held Irtysh to just 12 points in the period to gain a 36:35 halftime lead. Astana extended the margin in the third quarter. They accumulated a 55:52 cushion before the fourth frame. But Irtysh proved the character. The Pavlodar team silenced the Astana crowd late in regulation stealing a decisive dramatic win. Oksana Osipenko (186-F-85) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Angelina Yuskova (170-G-90) contributed 13 points for the winners. Elena Hustnitdinova (172-G-85) and Anastassiya Alishauskaite (172-G-88) recorded 16 points apiece for the Tigers. Elena Dots (177-F-89) netted 13 points in the loss.

Astana Tigers clinched the title at the Kazakhstan Cup tournament. They overcame Irtysh Pavlodar 83:76 in the title game. Astana Tigers dominated throughout the tournament. They overcame Okzhetpes in the preliminary round and faced BK Almaty in the semis. The Tigers proved the strength claiming a 91:68 victory. Irtysh in the meantime celebrated a 70:66 win over Okzhetpes in another semifinal clash. The title battle was a tough one with Astana Tigers snatching a narrow win at the end. Anastassiya Alishauskaite (170-G-88) was named the tournaments MVP. Tamara Seregina (182-F-90) was trumped the Best Forward. Elena Staschuk (192-C-85) claimed the Best Centre award, while Ekaterina Karnova (165-G-87) from Okzhetpes was the named the Best Guard.
