Astana Tigers clinched National League title. They stormed past Barsy in Atyrau in the third game of the championship series to complete the sweep. The game was mostly controlled by Astana. Barsy Atyrau managed to win second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Barsy Atyrau to just 7 points in third quarter. Astana looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for the former international guard Maxim Marchuk (195-94) who led his team to a victory with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Latvian Ojars Silins (203-93) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Astana players scored in double figures. International center Vladimir Ivanov (205-94) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and American guard CJ Carter (185-93, college: Omaha) added 5 points and 5 assists in the effort for Barsy Atyrau. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Astana clinched their 9th Cup title beating Tobol 92-66 in the Final game. Astana took an early 19-18 lead and added massive 25-12 surge before the halftime. Moreover Astana posted 24 points in the third and the last stanzas for the final success.
Anton Ponomarev (210-C-88, agency: BeoBasket) stepped p with 19 points, whilst Robert Pan (202-C-95) poured in 17. Maksim Marchuk delivered 14 and Rustam Murzagaliyev (190-G-92) had 13. Pavel Ilyin replied with 21 points in a loss and Daniil Seleznyov (187-PG-90) as well as Rustam Valiyev (186-F-99) delivered 10 apiece.
