Turan, who led the Higher League standings from wire to wire during the regular season, were never threatened in the title decider. They raced to a stunning 31-12 first-quarter lead and took a 47-24 advantage into halftime, effectively ending the contest before the break. Shymkent outscored Turan only in the fourth quarter (23-14), by which point the celebrations were already underway. Sergei Bormatenkov (191-F-1991) was the star of the final, delivering 24 points on 9-of-12 from the field — including a perfect 4-of-4 from two-point range and 5-of-8 from three — with seven rebounds, five steals, and two assists. Konstantin Dvirnyi (192-G/F-1988) provided the ideal complement with 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting, adding three rebounds. As a team, coach Yunus Irismetov's squad shot 47.7 percent from the field (31-of-65) and dished a remarkable 34 assists — an extraordinary number that reflected the ball movement and unselfishness that defined their championship season. Turan also dominated the boards 39-46 and committed just 12 turnovers while forcing 16. For Shymkent, coached by Muslim Shakirov, Nikolay Bazhin (198-F-1990) — who earned multiple Player of the Week awards during the regular season — led with 16 points and eight rebounds but shot just 6-of-17 from the field. Anuar Shakirov (180-PG-2000) added 15 points on 6-of-17 shooting with seven rebounds and six assists in a full 40-minute effort, while Vadim Bagrov (187-SF-2000) had 11 points. But the visitors shot a dismal 32.5 percent from the field (25-of-77) and just 30.8 percent from the free-throw line (4-of-13), numbers that reflected their inability to find any rhythm against Turan's stifling defense.
