JBF Issues Final Appeals Committee Rulings on Faisaly–Amman United Finals Incident

Amman, May 10 The Appeals Committee of the Jordan Basketball Federation has officially accepted the appeal submitted byAmman United regarding the sanctions and decisions issued by the Disciplinary and Conduct Committee following the incidents that accompanied Game 2 of the CFI Jordan Premier League Finals against Al-Faisaly.

After reviewing the full case file, supporting documents, regulations, and disciplinary bylaws, the Appeals Committee announced a series of final rulings.

Key Decisions

Match Result Reinstated

The committee overturned the previous decision to cancel and replay the match in full, and instead upheld the earlier ruling of the Competitions Committee.

As a result, Game 2 will resume from the exact moment it was suspended, with 9:02 remaining in the fourth quarter, using the same refereeing crew and match procedures.

Closed-Door Games

The Appeals Committee also amended the disciplinary ruling regarding crowd sanctions, deciding that:

The resumed Game 2 will be played behind closed doors Games 3 and 4 of the finals series between the two clubs will also be played without spectators The decision was approved unanimously by committee members.

Sam Daniel Appeal Rejected

The committee rejected Amman United appeal concerning the sanctions imposed on player Sam Daniel, ruling that the original disciplinary decision was final and not subject to appeal.

Ammar Bastami Case Dismissed

The appeal regarding the absence of sanctions against player Ammar Bastami was also rejected, as no disciplinary decision or referee report referred to the matter.

Suspensions Upheld

The committee rejected Amman United appeal regarding the sanctions imposed on:

Mohammad Shaher

Hussein Ababneh

Head coach Abdullah Abu Qoura stating that these decisions are final and non-appealable under federation regulations.

Federation Statement

The Jordan Basketball Federation reaffirmed its commitment to applying all regulations and disciplinary procedures fairly, while preserving the integrity, safety, and credibility of domestic competitions.

A revised schedule for the remainder of the finals series is expected to be announced.
