Jordan Basketball Federation Issues Official Statement on Finals Incident

Amman, April 21 —

The Jordan Basketball Federation has expressed deep regret and strong dissatisfaction over the unfortunate incidents that accompanied Game 2 of the CFI Jordan Premier League Finals between Al-Faisaly and Al-Ittihad Amman, stressing that such behavior does not reflect the values of the sport or the spirit of fair competition.

The federation confirmed that it has initiated a comprehensive review through its relevant committees, examining all official reports related to the match, including those of referees, game commissioners, and available video footage. The findings will be referred to the Disciplinary and Conduct Committee, which holds jurisdiction to issue appropriate sanctions in accordance with the applicable regulations, ensuring fairness and neutrality.
The federation reiterated its firm rejection of all forms of violence and misconduct witnessed during the game, emphasizing that the safety of players, coaching staff, officials, and fans remains an absolute priority. It stressed that any violations will be dealt with decisively within the established legal framework.

Decision on the Match

The Competitions Committee has decided that Game 2 will be resumed from the point at which it was suspended, with the same officiating crew. The game had originally been halted by the match commissioner to ensure the safety of all parties.

In addition, the federation announced that the finals series has been postponed until further notice, pending rescheduling and the completion of all necessary procedures.
he federation confirmed that the incident will undergo a full disciplinary, organizational, and security assessment, aimed at strengthening control measures inside arenas and preserving fair competition, particularly during decisive stages of tournaments.

All decisions will be announced upon completion of the official procedures, with full transparency and responsibility.

The federation called on both clubs, players, coaching staff, fans, and media outlets to act with the highest level of responsibility, and to refrain from any statements or actions that could escalate tensions or interfere with the official process.
