Strong Group beats Amman United to go 4-0 ahead of Dubai QF

The Strong Group Athletics continued its winning ways as it took down Amman United Club - Jordan, 84-75, Wednesday (Dubai time) at the Al Nasr Club for its fourth straight win in the Dubai International Basketball Championship. It was a wire-to-wire win for the Philippine-based crew and even led by 17, 70-53, after back-to-back baskets from Chris McCullough (208-F-1995, college: Syracuse) and Abando Rhenz (188-SG-1998) to open the fourth period. Amman United, however, inched closer and trailed within seven, 82-75, with 47 seconds left but free throws from Mikey Williams and Brickman Jason (183-G-1991, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Interperformances) sealed the victory for Strong Group. Malachi Richardson (197-G-1996, college: Syracuse) led Strong Group in scoring with 24 points, while McCullough added 19 points, on top of grabbing eight rebounds and making five assists. Abando, meanwhile, had 12 points. Fadi Mustafa led Amman United with 20 points. The Strong Group Athletics will head to the quarterfinals with a 4-0 card and will face Sharjah SC on Thursday. Zamboanga Valientes, meanwhile, went winless in the tournament after absorbing a 95-59 loss against the Tunisia National Team on Wednesday.
