Abbas' double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

25-year old PAL-JORn forward Hashem Abbas (198-F-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Rum and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 21.
He had a double-double of 52 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Pella (#5, 10-13) 122-114. Rum maintains the 2nd position in Jordanian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Rum will need more victories to improve their 16-7 record. In the team's last game Abbas had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Rum, through which he has constantly improved. Bridgeport University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Abbas is in league's top in points (3rd best: 26.1ppg), rebounds (5th best: 11.2rpg), assists (6th best: 5.4apg) and averages solid 2.2spg and 57.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Ashraf Alhendi (190-G-1995). He is international guard in his first season at Rum. In the last game Alhendi recorded an impressive triple-double of 23 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Of course Rum cruised to a 122-114 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Pella (#5, 10-13). Rum's second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 16-7 record is not bad at all. Alhendi is one of the most experienced players at Rum and similarly like Hashem Abbas has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Byron Maxwell (175-PG-1993) of league's leader Gerasa. Maxwell got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds and five assists. He was a key player of Gerasa, leading his team to a 82-77 win against #3 ranked Philadelphia in a game of the week. Gerasa confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 6 lost games. Maxwell has a great season in Jordan. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.2ppg (4th best) and assists with 6.2apg (4th best). Maxwell attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
