Best players of Jordanian Premier League round 20 (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced American BJ Maxwell (194-PG-1997, college: IUPUI) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Gerasa and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 31-year old playmaker had the game-high 47 points adding nine rebounds and seven assists for Gerasa in his team's victory, helping them to crush Petra (#4, 11-11) with 17-point margin 91-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Gerasa to consolidate first place in the Jordanian Premier League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Gerasa has a very solid 17-6 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Maxwell had a remarkable 70.8% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Gerasa, through which he has constantly improved. Le Moyne-Owen College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Maxwell is in league's top in points (4th best: 23.9ppg), assists (4th best: 6.3apg) and averages solid 51.1% FGP. Worth to mention Maxwell played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Palestinian forward Hashem Abbas (198-F-1999) of second-ranked Rum. Abbas impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 38 points and 14 rebounds. It was enough for Rum to edge slightly higher-ranked Gerasa (#1, 17-6) by 1 point 85-84. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Rum consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 15-7 record is not bad at all. Abbas is one of the most experienced players at Rum and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.7ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 10.8rpg and 5.2apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Devin Gilmore (200-F/C-1997) of Pella (#5). Gilmore scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Pella, leading his team to a 100-57 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Arabella (#6, 7-16). The chances of Pella ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 12 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gilmore could help Pella to bring them higher in the standings. Gilmore has a great season in Jordan. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.7rpg (6th best).
