This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Philadelphia (11-3) to fourth ranked Petra (8-6) 75-73 on Friday evening. Petra looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Gregoryshon Magee (211-1990, college: USA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and American-Jamaican center David Haye (183-1994, college: SUNY Delhi, agency: Interperformances) who added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Zane Najdawi (201-1996, college: Citadel) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Newly promoted Petra maintains fourth position with 8-6 record. Philadelphia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the second place with three games lost. Petra are looking forward to face league's leader Geresa in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Philadelphia will play against Rum and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Premier League top team - Geresa (12-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Pella (5-9) 92-52. The winners were led by Akef Al Shiyab who scored that evening 21 points and 7 rebounds and Byron Maxwell supported him with 22 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Even 12 points and 6 rebounds by American power forward Devin Gilmore (200-1997, college: Murray St.) did not help to save the game for Pella.
