Premier League Round 13 (Regular Season): Petra lose to Arabella

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between third ranked Petra (8-5) and fifth ranked Arabella (5-7) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Petra was defeated by Arabella in a tough game on the road 62-71. Arabella looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Dmonta Harris who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. American forward Emmanuel Egbuta (201-1996, college: Tennessee St.) contributed with 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Arabella's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Gregoryshon Magee (211-1990, college: USA) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds for Petra. Newly promoted Arabella maintains fifth place with 5-7 record. Petra at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third position with five games lost. Arabella are looking forward to face Pella (#6) in the next round. Petra will have a break next round.
The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Geresa (10-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Pella (4-8). Geresa smashed Pella 101-75. Ahmad Alhamarsheh stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Akef Al Shiyab chipped in 25 points and 5 assists. At the losing side American power forward Devin Gilmore (200-1997, college: Murray St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Geresa keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Philadelphia. Pella lost third consecutive game. Pella at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Geresa will play against bottom-ranked Ayla (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pella will play against Arabella and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 13 bottom-ranked Ayla was beaten by Rum on the road 99-91.




Rum - Ayla 99-91

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Rum (7-5) beat at home bottom-ranked Ayla (1-11) 99-91. Rum dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ayla's 26. Forward Khaled Thaher (203, college: Wheaton, MA) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and American guard Hunter Strait (188-2000, college: Truman St.) chipped in 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Rum players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Patrick Burnett (193-1995, college: York, NE) responded with a triple-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists and Mohammad Zaghab produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. Rum have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Rum maintains fourth place with 7-5 record. Ayla at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Rum will play against league's second-placed Philadelphia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ayla will play against the league's leader Geresa (#1) to get more than just one victory in their record.

Ahmad Alhamarsheh stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Akef Al Shiyab chipped in 25 points and 5 assists. At the losing side American power forward Devin Gilmore (200-1997, college: Murray St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and international swingman Ahmad Hammouri (194-2003) scored 27 points.
