Dorsey's 25 points and 6 rebounds give him Player of the Week award- March 11, 2023
He had the game-high 25 points adding six rebounds and five assists for Orthodox in his team's victory, helping them to beat Al Ahli (#2, 2-1) 96-88. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Orthodox to consolidate first place in the Jordanian league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Orthodox already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Dorsey had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Orthodox's top player in his first season with the team. Dakota Wesleyan University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Dorsey is in league's top in points (7th best: 19.0ppg), assists (3rd best: 6.1apg) and averages solid 62.7% FGP and 40.5% from behind 3-point line. Second best performed player last round was Brandon Spearman (191-G/F-1991) of Al Riyadi. He is American swingman in his first season at Al Riyadi. In the last game Spearman recorded impressive 31 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Al Riyadi cruised to a 87-80 relatively comfortable win over Al Jubaiha (0-3). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Spearman is a newcomer at Al Riyadi and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.1ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 4.6rpg and 3.4apg. Former University of Hawaii star Spearman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Third place about best performers goes to forward Kevin Mickle (201-F-1993) of Al Jubaiha (#4). Mickle scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Mickle's great performance Al Jubaiha lost 80-87 to #3 ranked Al Riyadi. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Al Jubaiha can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful Second Stage losing so far all 3 games. Mickle has individually a great season in Jordan. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.8ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 11.6rpg (2nd best). He also has 2.5spg and 1.2bpg.
