Best players of Jordanian Premier League round 2 (Second Stage)- March 9, 2023
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 19 points and twelve rebounds, while his team lost the game against the league's best team Al Ahli (#2, 2-0) 70-94. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Al Jubaiha moved-up to the 3rd position in Jordanian Premier League. The team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings in Second Stage. They lost 2 games and had no victories. Mickle turned to be Al Jubaiha's top player in his first season with the team. Ohio University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mickle is in league's top in points (5th best: 20.5ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.8rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 2.7spg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international center Mohammad Hussein (210-C-1990) of league's best team Orthodox. Hussein impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for Orthodox to edge Al Riyadi (0-2) by 5 points 85-80. His team has extremely good start of the Second Stage. They won both games so far. However the Second Stage is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Hussein is a newcomer at Orthodox and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was international forward Ahmad Obeid (197-F-1990) of Al Riyadi (#4). Obeid scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Obeid's great performance Al Riyadi lost 80-85 to #1 ranked Orthodox. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Al Riyadi can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful Second Stage losing so far all 2 games. Obeid has individually a great season in Jordan. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.3rpg (6th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Amin Abuhawwas (190-G-1994) of Al Ahli - 25 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists 5. Mahmoud Abdeen (191-PG-1987) of Al Ahli - 15 points, 3 rebounds and 10 assists 6. Darrin Dorsey (188-PG-1987) of Orthodox - 18 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists 7. Brandon Spearman (191-G/F-1991) of Al Riyadi - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists 8. Caden Al-Najdawi (203-F-1999) of Orthodox - 14 points and 3 rebounds The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
