Orthodox - Al Riyadi 85-80 Orthodox defeated Al Riyadi in Amman 85-80. Orthodox made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Mohammad Hussein (210-1990) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Darrin Dorsey (188-1987, college: DWU, agency: Diamond Sports) chipped in 18 points and 9 assists. Four Orthodox players scored in double figures. Orthodox's coach Harry Savaya used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international forward Ahmad Obeid (197-1990) produced 24 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Brandon Spearman (191-1991, college: Hawaii) added 23 points respectively for the guests. Al Riyadi will play next round against strong Al Jubaiha trying to get back on the winning streak. Orthodox will try to continue on its current victory against Al Ahli. It will be extra interesting game as Al Ahli is their local rival from Amman. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Al Jubaiha's players. The former international guard Amin Abuhawwas (190-1994, college: Mars Hill) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 4 assists. The former international point guard Mahmoud Abdeen (191-1987) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists for the winners. Abuhawwas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Ahli players scored in double figures. Guyanese-American forward Kevin Mickle (201-1993, college: Ohio) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks and point guard Mitri Bosheh (180-1996) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for Al Jubaiha. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
