Najdawi's double-double lands him Player of the Week award- January 31, 2023
He had a double-double of 27 points and 20 rebounds, while his team outclassed Kofer Yoba (#5, 2-8) with 45-point margin 102-57. Al Ahli maintains the 2nd position in Jordanian league. They are still close to the very top. Al Ahli would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 8-2 record. In the team's last game Najdawi had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Ahli's top player in his first season with the team. The Citadel graduate has very impressive stats this year. Najdawi is in league's top in points (7th best: 19.7ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 11.3rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 64.0% FGP. Second best performed player last round was Nader Suleiman (187-G/F-1992) of Al Riyadi. He is international swingman in his first season at Al Riyadi. In the last game Suleiman recorded impressive 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Al Riyadi to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Al Ashrafiyah (#6, 1-9) 109-75. Al Riyadi's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 6-4 record is not bad at all. Suleiman is a newcomer at Al Riyadi and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often. Third place about best performers goes to another Al Ahli's star - guard Amin Abuhawwas (190-G-1994). Abuhawwas showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in the last round. He was another key player of Al Ahli, helping his team with a 102-57 easy win against the lower-ranked Kofer Yoba (#5, 2-8). Al Ahli is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 8-2 record is not that bad... Abuhawwas has a great season in Jordan. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.6ppg (2nd best) and assists with 6.7apg (2nd best). He also has 2.7spg, FGP: 56.6% and 3PT: 47.8%. Amin Abuhawwas has also Jordanian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player. Abuhawwas attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
