Jordanian Premier League round 2 best performance: Ashraf Al-Hendi

International Guard Ashraf Al-Hendi (190-G-1995) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Orthodox, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, eight rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Al Ashrafiyah (#5, 0-2) with 21-point margin 101-80. Orthodox maintains the 2nd position in Jordanian Premier League. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Orthodox won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Al-Hendi had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Orthodox's top player in his first season with the team. Ashraf Al-Hendi has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 24.5ppg) and averages impressive 1.5bpg,61.5% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Gerard Tarin (206-F-1996) of league's leader Al Ahli. Tarin had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Al Ahli to another comfortable win outscoring Al Riyadi (0-2) 95-72. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Tarin is a newcomer at Al Ahli, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.5ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 16.0rpg and 5.5apg. Former Nova Southeastern University star Tarin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Ahmad Obeid (197-F-1990) of Al Riyadi (#6). Obeid scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds. Despite Obeid's great performance Al Riyadi lost 72-95 to Al Ahli (#1, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Al Riyadi can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. The season just started for Obeid as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
