Al Riyadi signs Malek Kanaan

Al-Riyadi-Amman ) signed 29-year old international guard Malek Kanaan (182cm-81kg-1993, college: W.Valley JC). Kanaan played last season at Orthodox in the Premier League. In 21 games he had 8.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 6.8apg (top 3) and 1.9spg. D1 will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. He helped them to make it to the Jordanian League final after they ended regular season as second best team. 2021-22 was a great year as he was named to Asia-Basket.com All-Jordanian Premier League Second Team.
Kanaan has been also a member of Jordanian international program for some years. He has regularly played for Jordanian senior team since 2016 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2010.
Kanaan represented Jordan at the FIBA Asia Cup in Jakarta (Indonesia) this year. His team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 4 games: 1.8ppg, 2.5rpg, 2.5apg, 1.8spg.
He has played previously for two other teams: Al Ahli and Al Jubaiha.
Kanaan won Jordanian League championship title in 2019.
He graduated from West Valley College in 2014 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player.
