There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Premier League. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Kofer Yoba - Orthodox 94-101 An interesting game for Orthodox (9-1) which played road game in Irbid against 4th ranked Kofer Yoba (3-7). First ranked Orthodox managed to get a 7-point victory 101-94. Orthodox forced 23 Kofer Yoba turnovers. Strangely Kofer Yoba outrebounded Orthodox 50-35 including 20 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Amin Abuhawwas (190-94, college: Mars Hill) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and the former international center Mahmoud Hazaymeh (205-2) who added 21 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Abuhawwas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Orthodox's coach Samer Nino allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward James Currington III (201-95, college: SE Louisiana) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 23 rebounds and the former international Ibrahim Hamati (187-96) scored 24 points, 9 assists and 8 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Orthodox have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Kofer Yoba at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Al Jubaiha. Orthodox's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Amman to the arena Al Ahli. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to second ranked Al Wihdat (8-2) 108-63 on Monday evening. Al Wihdat dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Al Jalil's 32. Al Wihdat forced 22 Al Jalil turnovers and outrebounded them 52-22 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Al Jalil's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Al Wihdat made 8 blocks. The winners were led by international center Yousef Abuwazaneh (201-93) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and point guard Ammar Bostami (180-91) supported him with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Al Wihdat players scored in double figures. Even 20 points by Khaldoun Jbarah did not help to save the game for Al Jalil. Munir Idais added 8 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Wihdat have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-2 record behind leader Orthodox. Loser Al Jalil still closes the standings with ten games lost. Al Wihdat will meet at home Al Jubaiha (#4) in the next round.
