Best players of Jordanian Premier League round 3- January 6, 2022
The 27-year old guard had the game-high 33 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Orthodox in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Kofer Yoba (#6, 0-3) with 40-point margin 116-76. Orthodox maintains the 3rd position in Jordanian Premier League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Orthodox will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Abuhawwas had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Orthodox's top player in his first season with the team. Mars Hill College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Abuhawwas is league's best scorer averaging so far 26.3ppg. Abuhawwas is in league's top in and averages solid 3.7spg and 61.8% FGP. Worth to mention Abuhawwas played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old American power forward Gregoryshon Magee (211-F/C-90) of Al Jubaiha. Magee impressed basketball fans with 31 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Jubaiha lost that game 77-97 to Al Ahli (3-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Magee is a newcomer at Al Jubaiha and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.3ppg (#2). He also registered 12.3 boards per game. University of South Alabama alumni Magee played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The third best performed player last round was American James Currington III (201-F-95) of Kofer Yoba (#6). Currington III scored 18 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). Despite Currington III's great performance Kofer Yoba lost 76-116 to Orthodox (#3, 2-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Kofer Yoba can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 3 games. Currington III has a very solid season. In 3 games in Jordan he scored 18.7ppg.
