Premier League Round 3: Al Ahli keep a leadership position

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Al Ahli smashed Al Jubaiha in Amman 97-77. Al Ahli forced 20 Al Jubaiha turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Shaquille Thomas (201-92, college: Cincinnati) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. point guard Mitri Bosheh (180-96) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Gregoryshon Magee (211-90, college: USA) who recorded 31 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Al Jubaiha will play next round against strong Al Wihdat trying to get back on the winning streak. Al Ahli will try to continue on its current victory against Orthodox. It will be extra interesting game as Orthodox is their local rival from Amman.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Amman. Local Orthodox (2-1) outscored Kofer Yoba (0-3) 116-76. It was a good game for international guard Amin Abuhawwas (190-94, college: Mars Hill) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Ibrahima Thomas contributed with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward James Currington III (201-95, college: SE Louisiana) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds for Kofer Yoba. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Orthodox's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Amman to the arena Al Ahli.

In the last game of round 3 winless Al Jalil lost to undefeated Al Wihdat in Amman 57-88.



Al Wihdat - Al Jalil 88-57

There was no surprise in Amman where Al Jalil (0-3) was crushed by Al Wihdat (3-0) 88-57. Al Wihdat dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Al Jalil's 38. Al Wihdat forced 20 Al Jalil turnovers and outrebounded them 55-29 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Al Jalil's players. It was a good game for American guard Antoine Mason (191-92, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international guard Ashraf Al-Hendi (190-95) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Mason is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Wihdat players scored in double figures. American point guard Quintin Lee (180-92, college: S.Arkansas) answered with 24 points and Mustafa Mansour added 8 points in the effort for Al Jalil. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Wihdat will play against Al Jubaiha (#4) on the road in the next round. Al Jalil's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Irbid to the arena Kofer Yoba.
