Orthodox signs Sharon Houston, ex Panathinaikos

Orthodox Amman (D1) signed 33-year old American power forward Sharon Houston (191cm-88, college: IU Northwest) for upcoming 2021-22 season. Houston played most recently at Panathinaikos in Greek A1 league, but left the team in Nov.'20. In three games she had 10.0ppg and 5.7rpg last season.
The previous (19-20) season she played at Sakarya Yukselis in Turkish TKBL where in 18 games she recorded very impressive stats: 15.7ppg, 12.3rpg, 1.6apg, 1.1spg and 1.3bpg. 2019-20 was a great season as she was named to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TKBL Honorable Mention.
She has played also professionally for other Turkish teams like Cankaya, Bursa, Edremit, Nallihan and Bakospor.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others her team won Turkish TKB2L Group A Regular Season in 2014. She was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TKBL Player of the Year and Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TKBL Defensive Player of the Year back in 2017.
Houston attended Indiana University Northwest until 2012 and it will be her tenth season as a professional player.
She could be described: Sharon is a mobile and athletic post player that runs the floor well and is a leader on the court. She can score with multiple ways, create for her teammates, play good defense and rebound well. Houston is a very smart and experienced player that every team would like to have her in their roster.
