Philippines edge Jordan in Day 1 of the 2012 William Jones Cup. Philippines won over the opponents 88:78 in the third game of the tournament.
Philippines won the first period 25-16, but Jordan looked outstanding in the second frame. The latter erupted with 23-11 and grabbed 39:37 at the halftime. Philippines meanwhile responded with 30-15 in the third period and never looked behind after. They did not mind 22-24 in the last period to seal the victory in the opener.
Marcus Douthit (210-C/F-80, agency: Edge Sports, college: Providence) top-scored for the winners with 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Gary David (188-G/F-78) posted 14. Jeffrei Chan (192-F-83) notched 11 and Larry Fonacier (190-F/G-82) had 10. Rasheim Wright (192-G-81, college: District of Col.) replied with 24 points in the losing effort and Hussein Mohammad had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Mahmoud Abdeen (189-PG-87) poured in 14, while Khaldoon ABU RUQAYAH had 10.

Uganda's Silverbacks registered a second successive defeat at the Molten Istanbul Cup in Turkey where the team is camped ahead of the World Cup qualifiers. Uganda fell to Jordan 91-75 at the Adalet Turan Sport & Convention Center on Monday evening in their third game of the tournament. Al Ahli celebrated Jordan Basketball League 2017/2018 title. In the Final stage they beat kafr yoba 82-80 in the last game. Being tied at 62:62 both teams stayed within 1-2 points at the end of the game as Al Ahli grabbed the valuable win. Later Al Riyadi Aramex beat Jazira 82-75 and Orthodox edged Star Jordan 93-82.
