Edwards re-signs at Tochigi Brex

Link Tochigi Brex Utsunomiya (B1 League) confirmed experienced 38-year-old American power forward Gavin Edwards (206cm-104kg-1988, college: UConn, agency: Octagon Europe) in their roster for the upcoming 2026-27 season. He is the second foreign player on the team, with Tongan Isaac Fotu already signed. Edwards has played with the team for the last three seasons, helping them win the regular season. During the previous season, he played 9 games in the East Asia Super League, averaging 10.2ppg, 6.9rpg, and 2.1apg. Edwards played a key role in his team's championship win in the East Asia Super League. In the 2025-26 season, he was named to the Asia-Basket.com East Asia Super League Third Team, making it a successful year for him.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
Edwards is a highly experienced player, having played in six different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and North America). He has played professionally in Greece (Peristeri), Korea, Malaysia, Ukraine, Japan (SeaHorses and Jets), and NBA G League (Springfield A.). It is very likely that he will finish his playing career at Tochigi Brex.
He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2010, and this will be his 17th season as a professional player.
