Best players of Japanese WJBL round 12

Experienced Naturalized Ghanian Evelyn Mawuli (180-C/F-1995) put on an amazing game in the last round for Eneos Sunflowers and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 30-year old had the game-high 31 points adding nine rebounds for Eneos S. in her team's victory, helping them to beat Sunshine R. (#4, 13-11) 83-76. Eneos S. maintains the 5th position in Japanese WJBL. Eneos S. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-13 record. In the team's last game Mawuli had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 6 attempts. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American center Channon Fluker (193-C-1997) of Oda Haneda Vickies. Fluker impressed basketball fans with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as Haneda V. lost that game 61-78 to the higher-ranked Fujitsu RW (#3, 16-8). Haneda V. are still at the very bottom. 22 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Haneda V. managed to get this year. Fluker is a newcomer at Haneda V. and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.0ppg (#2). She also registered 9.9 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was international guard Minami Shirasaki (166-SG-1996) of Chanson V-Magic (#6). Shirasaki scored 26 points and passed 5 assists. She was a key player of Chanson V-M, leading her team to a 70-63 win against the higher-ranked Denso I. (#2, 16-8). The chances of Chanson V-M ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 13 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Shirasaki could help Chanson V-M to bring them higher in the standings. Shirasaki has a great season in Japan. After 24 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.2ppg (4th best) and assists with 3.5apg (9th best).
