There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in WJBL. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game of round 12 in the WJBL took place in Shizuoka. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-best Denso I. (16-8) to sixth ranked Chanson V-M (11-13) 55-53 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was the former international Yurika Sato (177-1998) who scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Nigerian power forward Marvelous Nwoko (183-2001) chipped in 4 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Maki Takada (185-1989) who recorded 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chanson V-M have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Eneos S. Denso I. at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Fujitsu RW. Chanson V-M is looking forward to face higher ranked Sunshine R. (#4) in Aichi in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Denso I. will play on the road against Aishin AW in Anjo and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Denso I. (16-8) against sixth ranked Chanson V-M (11-13) on Sunday night. Visiting Denso I. was defeated by Chanson V-M in a tough game in Shizuoka 63-70. It was a good game for the former international Minami Shirasaki (166-1996) who led her team to a victory with 26 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Marvelous Nwoko contributed with 8 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Maki Takada (185-1989) replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds for Denso I.Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chanson V-M have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Eneos S. Denso I. at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Fujitsu RW. Chanson V-M will play against higher ranked Sunshine R. (#4) in Aichi in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Denso I. will play on the road against Aishin AW in Anjo and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Worth to mention a quality performance of Amaka Okonkwo who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Sayaka Okamoto with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota A. maintains first position with 20-4 record. Aishin AW lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 17 games lost. Toyota A. will meet at home Fujitsu RW (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aishin AW will play against the league's second-placed Denso I. (#2) and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 12 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
bottom-ranked Haneda V. was defeated by Fujitsu RW in Kawasaki 78-61. Eneos S. was smashed by Sunshine R. at home 54-76. Aishin AW was destroyed by Toyota A. on the opponent's court 71-45. Fujitsu RW outscored Haneda V. in a home game 89-50. Sunshine R. recorded a loss to Eneos S. on the road 83-76.

There was no surprise in Kawasaki where 8th ranked Haneda V. (2-22) was defeated by third ranked Fujitsu RW (16-8) 78-61 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian power forward Evelyn Akhator (190-1995, college: Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-1993, college: Queens, NY) who added 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Channon Fluker (193-1997, college: CSUN) with 20 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Saori Yoshida (157-1984) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
