The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Toyota A. (18-4) in Nagoya on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by sixth ranked Chanson V-M (9-13) 73-72. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Toyota A.. It was a great evening for who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. The former international point guard Shiori Yasuma (162-1994) responded with 11 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chanson V-M maintains sixth place with 9-13 record. Toyota A. at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Chanson V-M are looking forward to face league's second-placed Denso I. in Kariya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toyota A. will play at home against Aishin AW and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Aichi. Eighth ranked Haneda V. (2-20) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Sunshine R. (12-10) 72-69 on Sunday evening. It was an exceptional evening for American center Channon Fluker (193-1997, college: CSUN) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Shin Okada accounted for 15 points and 15 rebounds. came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for Sunshine R. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Haneda V. maintains eighth place with 2-20 record. Sunshine R. at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Haneda V. will play against higher ranked Fujitsu RW (#3) in Kawasaki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sunshine R. will play on the road against Eneos S. in Kashiwa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
