Best players of Japanese WJBL round 9 (by Hoops Agents)

American Channon Fluker (193-C-1997) had a great game in the last round for Oda Haneda Vickies and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 28-year old center had a double-double of 33 points and 13 rebounds, while her team lost the game against Toyota A. (#1, 15-3) 73-80. Haneda V. maintains the 8th position in Japanese WJBL. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Haneda V. have already lost 17 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Fluker had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. She turned to be Haneda V.'s top player in her first season with the team. California State University Northridge graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fluker is in league's top in points (3rd best: 13.9ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 9.9rpg) and averages solid 54.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Nigerian power forward Marvelous Nwoko (183-F/C-2001) of Chanson V-Magic. Nwoko impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Chanson V-M lost that game 69-75 to the higher-ranked Fujitsu RW (#3, 11-7). Chanson V-M is still second from the bottom in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-11 record. Nwoko is a newcomer at Chanson V-M and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 12.1ppg (#6). She also registered 10.2 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Nigerian Amaka Okonkwo (186-C-2002) of top-ranked Toyota Antelopes. Okonkwo scored 15 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Toyota A., leading her team to a 71-42 easy win against the lower-ranked Haneda V. (#8, 1-17). Toyota A. confirms their top position in the standings. Okonkwo has a great season in Japan. After 16 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 12.1ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 11.4rpg (#1 in league). She also has 2.1spg and a FGP of 60.3%.

9. Minami Shirasaki (166-SG-1996) of Chanson V-M - 18 points and 3 assists
10. Ramu Tokashiki (193-F/C-1991) of Aishin AW - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
