Nigerian-American Power forward Oderah Chidom (193-F/C-1995) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Toyota Boshoku Sunshine Rabbits, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while her team crushed Toyota A. (#1, 13-3) with 17-point margin 82-65. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Sunshine R. maintains the 2nd position in Japanese WJBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sunshine R. will need more victories to improve their 11-5 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Chidom as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Oderah Chidom averages this season 6.4ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was young international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (193-F/C-1991) of Aishin AW Wings. Tokashiki had a very good evening with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Of course she led Aishin AW to another comfortable win 72-56 over slightly lower-ranked Haneda V. (#8, 1-15) being unquestionably team leader. Aishin AW's 7th position in the standings has not changed. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Aishin AW managed to get this year. Tokashiki is well-known at Aishin AW and is a proven leader in her second season with the team. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.1ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 5.9rpg and 3.5apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Sunshine R.'s star - guard Nanami Tsuno (159-PG-2004). Tsuno showcased her all-around game by recording 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Toyota Boshoku Sunshine Rabbits, helping her team with a 82-65 easy win against #1 ranked Toyota A. in a game of the week. Sunshine R. needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 5 lost games. Tsuno has a great season in Japan. After 16 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.1ppg (3rd best) and assists with 5.6apg (3rd best).
