Nigerian Center Amaka Okonkwo (186-C-2002) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Toyota Antelopes, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 22 rebounds, while her team beat Chanson V-M (#5, 4-4) 68-58. It allowed Toyota A. to consolidate first place in the Japanese WJBL. Toyota A. have a solid 7-1 record. It's Okonkwo's second year at Toyota A. and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Amaka Okonkwo has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (3rd best: 12.9ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.4rpg) and averages impressive 2.3spg and 62.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Nigerian Mfon Joshua (190-C-1999) of Fujitsu Red Wave. Joshua had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds. Of course she led Fujitsu RW to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Aishin AW (#7, 1-7) 85-59. Fujitsu RW's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 5-3 record is not bad at all. Joshua is one of the most experienced players at Fujitsu RW and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Nigerian center Jessica Wariebimo (188-C-2005) of Toyota Boshoku Sunshine Rabbits (#4). Wariebimo scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Sunshine R., leading her team to a 72-59 easy win against the lower-ranked Haneda V. (#8, 1-7). Sunshine R. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Wariebimo has a great season in Japan. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.0rpg (4th best).
