Nigerian Amaka Okonkwo (186-C-2002) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Toyota Antelopes and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 23-year old center had a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, while her team crushed Haneda V. (#8, 1-3) with 16-point margin 68-52. Toyota A. maintains the 2nd position in Japanese WJBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Toyota A. will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. It's Okonkwo's second year at Toyota A. and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Okonkwo has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 10.5rpg) and averages solid 62.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (193-F/C-1991) of Aishin AW Wings. Tokashiki impressed basketball fans with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Aishin AW lost that game 64-78 to Eneos S. (3-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Tokashiki is well-known by Aishin AW fans and she already established her position as one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.5ppg (#2). She also registered 6.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Nanami Tsuno (159-PG-2004) of Toyota Boshoku Sunshine Rabbits (#4). Tsuno showcased her all-around game by recording 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Sunshine R., leading her team to a 67-63 win against Denso I. (2-2). Sunshine R. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Tsuno has a great season in Japan. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.0ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 6.3rpg (8th best) and assists with 5.8apg (3rd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
