Japanese WJBL round 1 best performance: Marvelous Nwoko (by Hoops Agents)

Nigerian Power forward Marvelous Nwoko (183-F/C-2001) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Chanson V-Magic, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 19 rebounds, while her team beat Eneos S. (1-1) 75-61. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Chanson V-M is placed at 2nd position in Japanese WJBL. Chanson V-M is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Nwoko had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. She turned to be Chanson V-M's top player in her first season with the team. Marvelous Nwoko has solid league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 21.0ppg and leads league in rebounds with 14.0rpg. Nwoko is in league's top in and averages impressive 2.0bpg,2.5spg and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Channon Fluker (193-C-1997) of Oda Haneda Vickies. Fluker had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Haneda V. cruised to a 69-62 relatively comfortable win over Aishin AW (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Fluker is a newcomer at Haneda V., but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.5ppg (#3). She also registered 9.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-F-1993) of Fujitsu Red Wave (#5). Miyazawa showcased her all-around game by recording 16 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Fujitsu RW, leading her team to a 80-69 win against Denso I. (1-1). Fujitsu RW needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Miyazawa has a great season in Japan. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (4th best) and assists with 4.5apg (8th best).
