American Center Joshua Smith (210-C-1992) had a great game in the last round for Fukuoka Rizing, receiving a Hoops Agents B2 League Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 36 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Kobe S. (5-6) 88-80. Rizing is placed at 3rd position in Japanese B2 League. Fukuoka R. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-6 record. Smith turned to be Rizing's top player in his first season with the team. Former Georgetown University star has very solid stats this year. Smith is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.3ppg. Smith is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 11.8rpg) and averages impressive 73.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Chaundee Brown Jr. (195-G-1998) of Kobe Storks. Brown Jr. had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Storks lost that game 80-88 to slightly higher-ranked Fukuoka R. (5-6). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in West. Kobe S. still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-6 record. Brown Jr. is a newcomer at Kobe S., but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.3ppg (#2). He also registered 4.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Stephen Zimmerman (211-C-1996, agency: Slash Sports) of Bambitious Nara (#5). Zimmerman showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Bambitious, leading his team to a 94-86 win against slightly lower-ranked Kumamoto V. (#7, 1-9). The chances of Bambitious ranking at the top of West, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Zimmerman could help Bambitious N. to bring them higher in the standings. Zimmerman has a great season in Japan. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.6rpg (8th best). He also has 1.5bpg and a FGP of 60.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Shaquille Hines (201-PF-1993) of Bambitious N. - 29 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Max Hisatake (203-C-1998) of Aomori W. - 25 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists

7. Taichi Nakamura (190-G-1997) of Fukuoka R. - 26 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
