WJBL Round 3 (Regular Season): Fujitsu RW lose their first game against Eneos S.

After 3 rounds played we can already see who rules in the WJBL and who belongs to weaker ones. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Fujitsu RW (5-1) in Kashiwa on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Eneos S. (3-2) 85-73. Eneos S. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Fujitsu RW's 20. They outrebounded Fujitsu RW 50-33 including 22 on the offensive glass. Eneos S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for center Okoe Mominoka (182-1999) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Moeko Nagaoka (183-1993) helped adding 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Rui Machida (162-1993) with 16 points and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eneos S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fujitsu RW will play on the road against Toyota BSR in Aichi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Maki Takada (185-1989) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Evelyn Mawuli accounted for 12 points and 4 assists. The former international Sakura Noguchi (181-2001) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 18 rebounds for Aishin AW in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Denso I. will play against Toyota A. (#8) in Nagoya in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aishin AW will play at home against Chanson V-M and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

(#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aishin AW will play against Chanson V-M and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 3: winless Hitachi Cougars lost to Chanson V-M on the opponent's court 78-90. Winless Toyota A. was outscored by Toyota BSR in a home game 58-79. Fujitsu RW managed to beat Eneos S. on the road 54-47. Winless Toyota A. was defeated by Toyota BSR on its own court 70-74. Winless Hitachi Cougars were smashed by Chanson V-M in Shizuoka 95-63.

Aishin AW - Denso I. 71-82

The game between Top Four teams took place in Anjo. host Aishin AW (3-4) lost to Denso I. (6-0) 82-71. Denso I. players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Maki Takada (185-1989) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-1995) accounted for 12 points and 4 assists for the winning side. (#8) in Nagoya in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aishin AW will play at home against Chanson V-M and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Hitachi Cougars' (0-6) road loss to Chanson V-M (3-3) 78-90 on Saturday. Chanson V-M looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Hitachi Cougars' players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Izoje Uche (188-2004) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds. The former international point guard Kuke Haruka (166-1995) chipped in 7 points and 14 assists. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Hoshi Aka (170-1995) who recorded 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Ririka Okuyama (180-2000) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Chanson V-M will meet Aishin AW (#6) in the next round. Hitachi Cougars will play against Aishin AW and hope to get finally their first victory.

Very predictable result in Nagoya where Toyota BSR (4-2) smashed Toyota A. (0-6) 79-58 on Saturday. Toyota BSR dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Toyota A.'s 32. They outrebounded Toyota A. 42-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Jessica Wariebimo (188-2005) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. International Nanako Todo (175-2000) chipped in 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Toyota BSR's coach Lucas Mondelo felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Shiori Yasuma (161-1994) who recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and international center Aika Hirashita (177-2002) added 9 points respectively. Toyota BSR will meet at home Fujitsu RW in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyota A. will play against Denso I. Not a big story in a game in Kashiwa where Eneos S. (3-2) was defeated by Fujitsu RW (5-1) 54-47 on Saturday. Fujitsu RW outrebounded Eneos S. 48-34 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Rui Machida (162-1993) who scored 2 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. The former international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-1993, college: Queens, NY) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Saori Miyazaki (167-1995) who recorded 12 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Kadysha Umezawa (190-1998) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Eneos S.'s coach Timothy Lewis rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Fujitsu RW will meet Toyota BSR (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Eneos S. will have a break next round.

Toyota BSR outrebounded Toyota A. 36-25 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Jessica Wariebimo (188-2005) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. International Nanako Todo (175-2000) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was center Ufuoma Tanaka (181-2002) who recorded 22 points and guard Chinami Yokoyama (170-2004) added 5 points and 6 assists respectively.
