Sichuan clinch first-ever FIBA WBL Asia title beating Fujitsu Red Wave 74-69 in front of over 8,000 fans at the Jinqiang International Event Center. The Chinese team started with a 23-13 lead and never looked behind after. They posted a 19-17 rally in the second frame for a 12-point halftime advantage. Fujitsu Red Wave managed to reply with two narrow wins in the second half for the final result.
Xu Han (208-C-1999) top-scored for the winners with 24 points and Song Gao (190-F-1992) added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Akina Uchio (177-F/G-1997) replied with 17 points in a loss and Yuki Miyazawa (183-F-1993, college: Queens, NY) poured in 13.
