International Forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-F-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Fujitsu Red Wave, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 26. The 30-year old player had a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds, while her team beat Chanson V-M (#5, 17-8) 70-63. It allowed Fujitsu RW to consolidate first place in the Japanese WJBL. Fujitsu RW have a solid 23-3 record. In the team's last game Miyazawa had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Fujitsu RW, through which she has constantly improved. Former Queens College star has very solid stats this year. Miyazawa is in league's top in points (7th best: 13.7ppg), rebounds (7th best: 6.8rpg) and averages impressive 41.8% from behind 3-point line.
The second best player in last round's games was young Nigerian center Izoje Uche (188-C-2004) of Chanson V-Magic. Uche had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 19 rebounds. Bad luck as Chanson V-M lost that game 63-70 to the higher-ranked Fujitsu RW (#1, 23-3). Chanson V-M managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 17-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Uche is well-known at Chanson V-M and is a proven leader in her second season with the team. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.2ppg (#2). She also registered 13.2 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Ramu Tokashiki (193-F/C-1991) of Eneos Sunflowers (#3). Tokashiki showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Eneos S., leading her team to a 73-63 win against #4 ranked Toyota A. in a game of the week. Eneos S. is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 22-4 record is not that bad... Tokashiki has a great season in Japan. After 25 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.2ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 10.2rpg (2nd best). She also has 1.6bpg and a FGP of 67.9%.
