von Novon's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

24-year old Nigerian center Joshuana von Novon (190-C-1999) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Fujitsu Red Wave and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 25.
She had a double-double of 10 points and 17 rebounds, while her team beat Chanson V-M (#5, 17-8) 64-59. It allowed Fujitsu RW to consolidate first place in the Japanese WJBL. Fujitsu RW have a solid 23-3 record. It's von Novon's second year at Fujitsu RW and it's hard to imagine this team without her. von Novon has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (3rd best: 15.2ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 9.0rpg) and averages solid 1.8bpg and 61.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Izoje Uche (188-C-2004) of Chanson V-Magic. She is Nigerian center in her second season at Chanson V-M. In the last game Uche recorded an impressive double-double of 17 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Chanson V-M lost that game 59-64 to the higher-ranked Fujitsu RW (#1, 23-3). Chanson V-M managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 17-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Uche is well-known at Chanson V-M and she already established her position as one of the team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.2ppg (#2). She also registered 13.2 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Jessica Wariebimo (188-C-2005) of Toyota Boshoku Sunshine Rabbits (#6). Wariebimo scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She was a key player of Toyota BSR, leading her team to a 104-66 easy win against the lower-ranked Niigata R. (#12, 5-21). Toyota BSR needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 14 victories and 12 lost games. Wariebimo has a very solid season. In 10 games in Japan she scored 13.8ppg. She also has 12.3rpg, 1.3bpg and a FGP of 52.7%.
